Protecting Lives. Building Peace: NDM-UN 27

The 27th International Meeting of Mine Action National Directors and United Nations Advisers (NDM-UN27) is taking place in Geneva, Switzerland from 29th April to 1st May.

On Wednesday, 1 May 2024 during Plenary Session 4 (9h30 to 10h45 CEST) the NDM-UN27 will address the role of mine action in reducing the human cost of weapons and building peace.  The session will include a briefing on United Nations efforts, including through the United Nations Mine Action Strategy and ongoing deliberations on the Pact for the Future, and cover broader agendas related to humanitarian, disarmament, development, and peacebuilding frameworks, including the Political Declaration on Strengthening the Protection of Civilians from the Humanitarian Consequences Arising from the Use of Explosive Weapons in Populated Areas
